How common are nursing home negligence complaints in The Bronx?
Between August 1st 2017 and July 31st 2021 there were 3,408 allegations of inadequate care or violations of federal or state regulations filed against nursing homes in The Bronx. This was 6.5% of the total number of complaints (52,630) filed in New York state over the same period.
And on average, there were 43.5 complaints per 100 occupied beds in each Bronx facility — lower than the New York state average of 50.1 complaints per 100 beds.
These complaints, along with facility inspections by the Department of Health, resulted in the issuance of 690 citations to Bronx nursing homes over the period.

Which nursing homes in The Bronx received the most complaints?
Between August 1st 2017 and July 31st 2021, the Grand Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on White Plains Road was the Bronx nursing home which received the highest number of complaints (207), while Casa Promesa on East 175th Street had the highest number of complaints registered per 100 patients (117.1).
