What is a closed head injury?

What is a closed head injury? A Closed Head Injury is synonymous with a Traumatic Brain Injury. It’s the same thing, they happen in the same way. It’s a force that’s applied to the outside of the head that causes injury to the brain inside the skull. It can happen from an object striking the head, from the head striking an object, or from violent movements.

This is to differentiate it from what’s known as an Acquired Brain Injury which is generally concerned with the brain injury that occurs from medical conditions such as a stroke or an infection like meningitis or a difficult labor and delivery for an infant that’s caused by medical conditions. They both result in brain damage but one is Acquired Brain Damage and once is a Closed Head Injury.

If you or a loved one has sustained a Closed Head Injury caused by the negligence of another, you need to seek counsel from a qualified Attorney to represent you, and make sure that you obtain just compensation and protect your rights.
