This made Brooklyn the New York borough with the second highest total number of TBI related ED visits.
However, when adjusted for population, Brooklyn had an average of 374.2 TBI related ED visits per 100,000 residents — the lowest of all four major New York counties.
TBI Related Hospitalizations In Brooklyn
Between 2012 and 2014 there were an average of 2,092 TBI related hospitalizations each year in Brooklyn.
This made Brooklyn the New York borough with the highest total number of TBI related hospitalizations.
However, when adjusted for population, Brooklyn’s average of 80.7 hospitalizations per 100,000 residents was the lowest of all four major New York counties.
TBI Related Deaths In Brooklyn
Between 2012 and 2014, an average of 219 deaths each year in Brooklyn were attributed to traumatic brain injury.
